HPS 3-Inch Quick-Release V-Band Clamp Kit

Build a secure, serviceable connection in a custom intake or intercooler piping system with the HPS Performance 3-inch V-band clamp kit.

This universal fabrication kit combines a 304 stainless-steel quick-release clamp with male and female 6061 aluminum flanges and an NBR O-ring. The quick-release T-bolt allows the clamp to be opened without completely removing the retaining hardware, making repeated assembly and service easier.

This aluminum-flange kit is intended for intake, intercooler, and other positive-pressure aluminum piping applications. It must not be used for exhaust fabrication.

3-Inch Universal Fabrication Size

The flanges are designed for compatible 3-inch aluminum tubing. A recessed locating lip on the rear of each flange helps center 16-gauge tubing during fabrication while maintaining an unrestricted internal airflow path.

Because this is a universal fabrication component, fitment depends on:

• System pressure and temperature
• Intended application

Quick-Release 304 Stainless-Steel Clamp

The included clamp is manufactured from 304 stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance. Its quick-release T-bolt design allows the clamp to be opened and removed without fully disassembling the fastener assembly.

This design is useful for components that may require periodic access, including:

Self-Aligning 6061 Aluminum Flanges

The male and female flanges automatically locate against one another during assembly, helping reduce flange misalignment.

Each flange is constructed from 6061 aluminum and incorporates a recessed tube-centering lip to simplify positioning during welding.

NBR O-Ring Seal

An included NBR O-ring creates an airtight seal between the aluminum flanges for compatible positive-pressure systems.

This makes the kit particularly suitable for turbocharged and supercharged intake or intercooler piping where preventing boost leaks is important.

Installation and Fabrication Notes

Professional fabrication and welding are recommended.

Before welding:

1. Confirm the tubing diameter and wall thickness.
2. Test-fit both flanges and verify their orientation.
3. Remove the NBR O-ring before welding.
4. Protect the clamp and sealing surfaces from welding contamination.
5. Allow the flanges to cool completely before reinstalling the O-ring.
6. Inspect the finished assembly for distortion and sealing-surface damage.
7. Pressure-test the completed piping system before vehicle operation.

Do not overtighten the clamp. Excessive force may damage the flanges, clamp, or sealing components.

Important Application Warning

Do not use this aluminum-flange V-band kit on exhaust piping.

The aluminum flanges and NBR O-ring are intended for intake, intercooler, and positive-pressure air systems—not exhaust-gas temperatures. HPS and its distributors explicitly warn against exhaust use.
